Quick Answer
OTA update usually fails because of Wi-Fi connection issues.
Most problems can be solved by:
Using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (not 5GHz)
Keeping the bike within 5 meters (16 ft) of the router or hotspot
Restarting the router or resetting network
Using a two-phone hotspot method
Symptoms
You may experience one of the following:
OTA update stuck at 0% or 99%
“Network error” message
Update starts but fails repeatedly
Why This Happens
Common causes:
Connected to 5GHz Wi-Fi (not supported)
Weak Wi-Fi signal
Router cache error
Phone network conflict
Too many devices on the same network
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Step 1 – Confirm Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz
Open your router settings
Make sure the network is 2.4GHz
Do NOT use 5GHz Wi-Fi
Avoid mixed “2.4G/5G auto” networks if possible
Tip: Many routers show “2.4G” in the Wi-Fi name.
Step 2 – Check Distance
-
Keep the bike within 5 meters / 16 feet of:
Router, or
Mobile hotspot
Avoid walls or large metal objects between them
Step 3 – Reset Network
Try these one by one:
Restart your router
Reconnect Wi-Fi on the bike
Restart the bike screen
Try OTA again
Step 4 – Airplane Mode Trick (Phone)
On your phone:
Turn ON Airplane Mode
Wait 10 seconds
Turn OFF Airplane Mode
Open the app and retry OTA
Step 5 – Two-Phone Hotspot Method (Most Effective)
If update still fails, please use this method:
You need two phones
Phone A – as hotspot
Phone B – to run the YESOUL app
-
On Phone A
Turn on personal hotspot
Keep it near the bike
Important: Make sure the hotspot is set to 2.4GHz. If using an iPhone, enable Maximum Compatibility.
-
On Phone B
Connect to Phone A hotspot
Open YESOUL app
Start OTA update
-
When the screen asks for Wi-Fi
Select Phone A hotspot
Enter hotspot password
-
Continue OTA
This method solves 90% of failures.
Important Notes During OTA
Do NOT turn off the bike
Do NOT exit the app
Keep screen on
Update may take 3–8 minutes
